The "Support Crew" consists of volunteer staff interested in topics like the visual culture of everyday life, art, and strengthening the resources of the Yokohama area. They participate in various projects and activities, sometimes working with participating artists to construct artworks, in preparation for the International Festival for Arts and Media Yokohama 2009.

As a volunteer, you will not just attend the exhibitions and screenings as a mere viewer, but certainly have many discoveries of your own along the way. Many artists’ works will be exhibited and screened, but we also want to provide you with opportunities to think about the impact of images in our everyday lives, and the role of images in contemporary society.
Even if you have no particular interest in moving image artworks, by helping to support the Festival as artist’s assistants and ‘extras,’ or as guides at the exhibitions, you will be challenged to think deeply about the television and films you view. Do join us to build this festival together.
Fumihiko Sumitomo, Director.

Various films can be viewed that were assembled using a 3D camera, such as the archive of the Pre-Event AM Cruises and documentation of the Support Crew’s activities helping visiting artists assemble their works. In addition, during the exhibition various activities such as event video feeds and artist interviews will be broadcast in real time.
Go to Channel CREAM

Within Yokohama, artists, musicians, and researchers are going out into the city along with local residents to engage in pursue various projects and create artworks. This will not simply be exhibited, but will be available for viewing before, during, and after the festival.
To Artwork Pages

We have provided support for artists already in Japan working on projects. Also, we are recording behind-the-scenes action as shows for Channel CREAM. This will become one of the main sources for the Support Crew's reports.
