The story in the videos Mik creates appears to be moving forward, but certain movements and events are repeated as if suspended in the linear flow of time. Images of contradictory events that are occurring simultaneously or that elicit a strange physical sensation are projected onto the screens. However, Mik’s work is never peculiar, and is also characterized by his creation of scenes that we have seen at some time in a place beyond personal memory. For the most part there is no sound. The videos are projected onto multiple sculpture-like screens that have been arranged with an awareness of the relationship between the physicality of the viewer and the screen.
