Lim Minouk’s work consists of images she records as part of her projects that relate to urbanization society and politics. In her video installation New Town Ghost (2005), she dissects the disparity existing between the desire for urban redevelopment and reality as she documents public performances of a rap she wrote herself set to the monotonous beat of a drum. SOS documents an opposition group against the development of the Han River that flows through the center of Seoul dancing and reading poetry on the banks of the river and the captain of a passenger ship performing a monologue. The relationship between nature, people and power is revealed.
