The composer Taro Yasuno has released the eighth in his series of Method Machine “music films” that he first launched in 2007. The music films are not “film music” (music for use in films); they are “music films” (films for use in music). Images are firstly captured as a series of musical notes capable of infinite interpretation and then turned back into image that produce harmony, melody and rhythm. The process by which humans recognize the world and the patterns around them is converted from a single image into musical notes and performance. The discovery of the until-now non-existent equation “coming into existence of human recognition = coming into existence of music” becomes the act of composing.
