One of Canada’s most foremost artists, Snow established himself, with his film Wavelength produced in 1967, as the master of 1960-70s “structural film”, which explores the way films are constructed. His diverse art practice that includes not only filmmaking but also painting, sculpture and music with its borderless approach to art production is reflected in all his work and conveys his desire to value the purity and absoluteness of whatever media he is working with. His recent production SSHTOORRTY contains a motif of the time axis and of the synchronism of film that causes us to reconsider the act of seeing.
