Shiga's unforgettably powerful photography is minutely constructed using performance and light, shot as field experiments based on a map derived from the experience of residing in a certain area and collecting data on the people there. The photographs, therefore, reflect her unique physicality and feeling and reveal the relationship created between the subjects in the shots. The result is the creation of a scene, different to the encoded reality that is the name of the place and individual that is photographed, with a unique time that can be revealed only in images.
