Having started his career in digital music, in recent years Edwin van der Heide has transcended existing musical domains and attempted to discover how expression redefines media and space. In 1989 he made his own instruments with sensors and in 1993 formed a group called Sensorband. In recent years he has presented numerous installations where sound and light are generated by people moving around, constantly changing by the relationship created by the viewer and the surrounding environment.
