- Outline: Free use of media and transmission of information is no longer a privilege limited to certain groups of people. Such a fundamental change has emerged for example as a movement called “DIY culture” in which people attempt to apply technologies once bound up with commercial activities to independent media expression.
However, the process of media domination is accelerating on a global scale, and the popularization of technology as people’s dream no longer seems to be a persuasive argument. The section is for examining this issue together with those active in such fields in Europe and Asia and who work for its success via various approaches.
